Woodlea Primary School

Interim Executive Board

Further to the letter to parents on 28/02/23 explaining that the Governing Body had decided to hand over responsibility for the school’s governance to a new Interim Executive Board (IEB) with effect from 1st March 2023, we are pleased to introduce ourselves to you.  We have already met as a group with the Interim Headteacher and we look forward to meeting the children and staff team shortly.

As a board, we’ll carry out the same functions as a Governing Body and we’ll work with the school to further support school improvement. Going forward we’ll work with the Academy sponsor, The University of Chichester Academy Trust, to ensure a smooth transfer. We’ll keep you updated when further information is available.

The IEB has been appointed to hold the leadership to account for standards and safeguarding as part of the School’s Improvement Plan.

The IEB will also be responsible for:

  • Upholding good governance of the School
  • Promoting the School and safeguarding the School’s values
  • Monitoring achievements, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety
  • Engage with all the School’s stakeholders, for example parents/careers, pupils and staff.
